I was thinking a little this morning about connecting–in particular, human connection. I’m a Gen Xer who grew up in the computer era in schools, and I’ve long been fascinated with machines, technology and tools. After all, one of the things that separates man from other animals is our ability to create tools.
Having said that, I’ve felt increasingly disconnected from others. This can happen over time, and maybe it’s a part of the aging process, but I’m increasingly concerned about an over-focus on technology and an under-focus on people. I read an article a while back that stated the quality of our lives is directly tied to the quality of our relationships. For some reason, it seems to have gotten tougher for me to find. Does anyone else feel this way? What advice do you have for someone who feels this way? I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts. I’d also be interested in investing time with anyone who’s looking for more out of life, particularly when it comes to genuine, authentic connections. Please let me know how I can help you on your journey and how we can both help each other!
